Save Elemental Robotics!
The Issue
We recently learned that due to baseless accusations, Elemental Robotics Inc. is facing a possible ban for the VEX Robotics 2022-2023 season featuring the game "Spin Up".
Elemental Robotics Inc. includes the teams Potassium Gears (772K) and Chlorinated Encoders (772E). It was created in June 2022 after a toxic and stressful season dealing with favoritism, severe consequences out-of-line with their own rules, and violations of the student-led policy of the Robotics Education and Competition (REC) Foundation.
We are appealing the decision as we feel the "violations" were either taken care of immediately or NO proof has been shown for other accusations.
- Creating and possessing a Robots Events Account as a minor (this was changed immediately after we realized he had to be over 18)
- Creating and possessing two VEX teams as a minor (same as above, as it was for both teams)
- Gaining possession of a team without permission from the Primary Contact (he was given access to the other team, not possession)
- Along with their parents, visiting the home of another person without their permission (Believing a package belonging to our team got sent to the wrong address, we stopped and inquired about it's delivery. Person at the door claimed no knowledge of the box, but said that they would "let your coach at 'Former team school' know". We didn't know who lived there, never gave our names, nor were we wearing identifying apparel. At this time he was NO LONGER A MEMBER of the "Former Team" associated with the the school.)
- Sending verbal and written threats to members of other Robotics organizations (These claims have NEVER been brought to the parents and we have yet to see ANY proof, even though we have asked).
None of these rules are specifically listed in the REC Foundation Code of Conduct, the school's Robotics program rules or the school's activities handbook. We are appealing the decision brought by REC - a decision that was made with the support of the school administration.
We are asking for the school administration to provide proof of the verbal or written threats and explain why visiting that person's home without their permission is a violation. We are asking the REC Foundation to read our upcoming appeal, learn the facts, and reconsider their harsh decision to punish not only one student but the whole organization.
Please sign and share our petition to help support our fight to clear his name and allow Elemental Robotics Inc. to compete for the 2022-2023 season!
Thank you!!
