Bill Gates spent hundreds of millions of dollars to have “Common Core” be the new standard in American education.  Years later, the failure of this experiment is clear: educators teaching to the test, children, homogenized learning, and an elitist approach to education that kills innovation.
 
Now, in the wake of the COVID pandemic that thrust failed home learning plans upon our children, the man who forced Common Core into our classrooms is teaming up with NY Governor Andrew Cuomo to “re-imagine education” by closing school buildings and force permanent online school. 

Common Core has negatively impacted a generation of children.  The results of remote learning since March – at all learning levels – has been inadequate at be and a failure in general.  Doubling down on a scheme that combines both of these abysmal ideas will have disastrous consequences for years to come!  We simply can’t let this happen.
 
We the undersigned oppose any efforts to “re-imagine education” through remote learning, and strongly urge Gov. Cuomo and our elected officials to return our kids to the classroom in a safe, healthy environment that will let them learn, grow and succeed.
