Dear Long Beach taxpayers and community members!

Our Board of Education will be making a decision on the closure of our  elementary school on January 27th (next Monday). 

We have not experienced a loss of funding that would justify such a drastic decision as initially proposed. In fact, we have seen positive changes in funding, and the district has not presented clear evidence that closing East Elementary is necessary from a financial standpoint.

Without solid data to show a budgetary crisis, we believe it’s premature and unjustified to consider closing a thriving school, established school and displacing hundreds of children. 

Please sign this petition in favor of keeping East Elementary School open. East Elementary has been the cornerstone and heart of our community for almost 100 years.
