PETITION FOR AN EMERGENCY STOP TO ANY NEW DEVELOPMENT ON CASTRO STREET, MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA.
1. Mountain View is allowing development in an ad hoc way with no benefit to the community. This has serious consequences for
the downtown businesses and anyone wanting a vibrant downtown.
2. Unlike surrounding cities or what best practices offer, Mountain View is not operating from a comprehensive plan with
professional standards including a survey of important historical and architectural assets and sufficient support for small
businesses.
3. We can LOSE MORE BUSINESSES and BUILDINGS. Many are gone, many are threatened and will follow shortly.
We, the undersigned, ask the City Council to protect our downtown NOW and place an EMERGENCY STOP on new Castro Street Development from the Train Station to El Camino UNTIL Mountain View develops a plan that protects and supports its valued street scape and businesses.
