🚨 COMMUNITY UPDATE: FIGHT FOR OUR CSB FUNDING 🚨
We’ll be showing up Monday, August 18th at the Douglas County Courthouse for the Commissioners Meeting — and we’re asking EVERYONE to come out in support!
New Developments:
We’re looking into whether the CSB can retrieve funds from Douglas County’s SPLOST (Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax) allotment. If that’s possible, we could fund our CSB without raising taxes at all.
It’s also important to know that the CSB has not been included in the county’s millage rate increases. While taxes are being raised, our CSB — which serves residents in mental health, veterans services, housing help, and more — has been left out. We deserve answers as to why this essential service is excluded from those funds.
Why It Matters:
The CSB is required by state contract to serve everyone, regardless of insurance, Medicaid status, or ability to pay. Many middle-class residents with insurance still can’t afford copays or deductibles — and they depend on the CSB. But with drastic funding cuts, the CSB can’t staff enough employees to meet community needs.
Our Goal:
We want the Commissioners to fund our CSB and take it under county oversight so it can operate at its full, life-saving potential.
📅 Be there August 18th! Bring your voice. Bring your passion. Let’s stand united for the services our community depends on.
