SAVE DENNIS KABUNGA FROM BEING DEPORTED.

SAVE DENNIS KABUNGA FROM BEING DEPORTED.
The Issue
"RIGHT TO SAFETY IS A FUNDAMENTAL HUMAN RIGHT. "
“We aren’t supposed to be doing this all over again, but here we are, dealing with yet another deportation.”
Dear Community members and Partners,
We find ourselves in a situation where despite the obvious harm it will cause him and his family, Dennis Kabunga is facing deportation from Canada on 14th December 2023.
In an effort to better his country, Uganda, Dennis has been involved in political activism which put him in direct confrontation with the regime in Kampala. Uganda is very well known for forced disappearances and extrajudicial killings of people who speak up against the government. Sending him back into the hands of this government will be a death sentence. They will be waiting for him.
Dennis is a dedicated social worker who has contributed immensely to the youth program at Kennedy House where he is a child and youth worker. Since his arrival to Canada in 2018, Dennis’ passion to contribute to the wellbeing of others has seen him immerse himself in supporting young people in Canada. His generosity and kindness cuts through everything he does. Dennis has supported the work of many PSWs in Ontario and is a committed Seventh Day Advesntist who is very active in his church.
The process of securing protection in Canada has contributed negatively to his mental health which has now resulted in health issues with him nearly losing his sight. Dennis is currently undergoing highly specialised treatment to save his eyesight, treatment he will not be able to get if he is deported. He might end up losing his sight.
As a law abiding member of his community, Dennis has never defaulted in payment of his taxes to the Canadian Revenue Authority (CRA) and has no criminal record with any Canadian authorities.
His enthusiasm in community work through Volunteering at local food banks like Dixon Hall neighbourhood services and homeless shelters is a blessing to those he touches despite his current health condition.
The deportation of this father of three will have an extremely detrimental effect on the lives of his family and could have a devastating effect on the future of his innocent children who fully depend on him.
Dennis has been in and out of courts for the last six years and this has not only drained him emotionally, but also financially yet he must hire expensive legal representation in order to continue fighting for his dear life.
A GoFundme page has been opened to support the legal costs that have come with his fight.please follow the link below!
