IMRAN KHAN'S LIFE IS IN GRAVE DANGER

Urgent Appeal to Supreme Court of Pakistan, United Nations, the European Union, the International Criminal Court, the Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International

2024 October: Imran Khan is continuing to endure severe conditions in illegal detention, with authorities blocking all access to him and reportedly abducting his lawyer. His family, including his sisters and wife, is also unlawfully confined. Khan is being held in a death cell and subjected to extreme heat without electricity, which amounts to psychological torture aimed at breaking his spirit. His PTI party has called these "unforgivable violations of fundamental human rights" that demand immediate attention.

Imran Khan's life is under threat in jail. The UN Working Group #UNReportOnImranKhan states that his detention had no legal basis and appears to have been intended to disqualify him from running for political office.

2023 May: Imran Khan has alleges top ISI officer tried to kill him twice

2023 March: State of Pakistan alleged plan for assassination of Imran Khan

2023: We appeal with great urgency and concern regarding the situation in Pakistan. The country has become a fascist police state, and the authorities are seeking to unfairly arrest and assassinate Imran Khan who is the most popular leader in the country. The government's ruthless crackdown is marked by shutdown of communication channels, power cuts, and the use of savage force against peaceful citizens, including expired shelling, chemical water cannons, rubber bullets, tear gas, and even live ammunition. These abhorrent actions tantamount to war crimes.

This blatant fascism is happening because the state machinery refuses to conduct fair and free elections, which Imran Khan and the people of Pakistan have been demanding for the sake of democracy and civil liberties. The apex court of Pakistan has already ordered elections in Punjab & KPK provinces, but they are being thwarted by those in power.

We must be vigilant against the creation of another Morsi-like scenario, where a leader was caught and jailed by the same oppressive forces that seek to undermine democracy and civil rights. In 1971, the Pakistan military made a grave mistake by supporting a minority leader - Bhutto - who had aligned with the establishment, while the judiciary backed him against the majority party leader. As a result, the country was split in two. We cannot allow history to repeat itself, and we must fight against the suppression of free speech and political dissent at all costs.

The fabricated allegations, more than 100 FIRs and the bogus arrest warrant against Imran Khan are a blatant attempt to throw Pakistan into chaos, delay elections and derail democracy. Imran Khan's life is in grave danger because those in power - Shahbaz Sharif, Rana Sanaullah and Major General Faisal Naseer and their accomplices - are the ones he accused of orchestrating the assassination attempt against him on 3rd November 2022.

Houses of workers and leaders in Islamabad are being vandalized by the police. The very force that is meant to protect citizens is terrorizing them with fascist tactics. Rana Sana, known for his violent tendencies, has turned the Islamabad Police into a destructive and murderous force.

It is ironic that the leader whose efforts led to the recognition of an annual day against Islamophobia by the international community is today facing the worst war crimes by the state, which is terrorizing him and his followers simply because they demand free and fair elections.

The state is standing against its own people shamelessly, and we fear that they will create another scenario similar to that of Morsi in Egypt. Protests have erupted nationwide in many cities of Pakistan. The fascist government is shutting down communication networks and using expired shelling, water cannons, and tear gas to attack peaceful citizens.

We call upon the international community to take immediate action to stop this unlawful arrest and to stand in solidarity with the people of Pakistan. The people of Pakistan deserve democracy, freedom, and the right to elect their leaders without fear of persecution. Despite attempts to sow division through racist remarks and actions, the people have come together in support of one leader - Imran Khan.

If we do not act now, the consequences could be dire. We cannot afford to let democracy die in Pakistan. We urge you to take immediate action and to stand with the people of Pakistan in their fight for democracy and freedom.

Update: Basic constitutional rights are under attack

On March 18th 2023, the police forcefully entered the private residence of Imran Khan and failed to produce a search warrant when asked by the political leader's family. They destroyed private property and violently beat up the domestic staff; they even went ahead and arrested some of the them. This is a gross violation of a citizens' fundamental rights, and it is unacceptable.

It is evident that the government has sidestepped the Constitution, which is the backbone of our democracy. We cannot allow a corrupt government to breed and plant the seed of fear in our society. The Constitution serves as our protection, and we must ensure that it is respected and upheld at all times.

The government has unlawfully banned TV channels from reporting on the trespassing of private property of a political leader. This is an alarming indication of the growing fascism in our country.

Update: Death Trap inside Federal Judicial Complex, Islamabad

18th March 2023, which was meant to be a regular court appearance turned out to be a death trap to eliminate Imran Khan. The court complex was swarmed by police personnel and around 20 unknown people were allowed inside carrying plastic handcuffs.

“Had I not moved from the complex immediately that might have resulted in bloodshed as the police, Rangers and unidentified people were making all-out efforts to provoke my party workers to create a battleground and use it as a cover to kill me,” Imran Khan was quoted as saying by news agency the Dawn.

Khan has requested the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court to allow him to appear in the court virtually.

We appeal to the Supreme Court of Pakistan and international organizations to launch an independent investigation into this matter and bring those responsible to justice. Justice must be served for the citizens of Pakistan.

Update: Police crackdown on political workers

The citizens of Pakistan are being stripped of their freedom of speech and social liberties every day, and the fascist regime is using its power to persecute all voices of dissent. Police brutality, fear tactics, politically motivated FIRs against Imran Khan, violent attack on peaceful supporters, kidnapping / illegal arrests of party workers. The crackdown escalated on March 19th 2023, with even family members, including children and newborn babies of workers being harassed / arrested, and leaders' houses being attacked. No one is safe in their own homes.

We demand an end to the politically motivated witch-hunt against Imran Khan and his party workers and supporters.

This petition is a call for justice, freedom, and change in Pakistan. International governments, Human Rights Organizations and Supreme Court please use your influence and resources to take swift action and stand with the people of Pakistan in their fight for democracy and human rights.
