We demand the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India, MoEFCC, DDA and CZA immediately halt the translocation of hundreds of deer from A.N. Jha Deer Park, Hauz Khas, Delhi to tiger reserves in Rajasthan.

New Delhi Nature Society (NDNS) has exposed shocking evidence of cruelty, lies and violations of wildlife laws. All facts below are already filed in the Supreme Court in SLP (Civil) No. 13374-13375/2025.

What we discovered:

• Deer already shifted to Rajasthan were kept in enclosures where we found a deer leg tied to a tree with rope and bones scattered everywhere. The fence overhang points inwards — allowing tigers and leopards to easily climb in. This is live bait, not relocation.
• At the Rajasthan Forest Department office, staff showed us a cage containing a dead peacock (India’s National Bird) and claimed “a vet treated it” — with no vet name, phone number or documents.
• During official deer counts in Mukundra Hills and Ramgarh Vishdhari Tiger Reserves, a senior officer was sleeping in the jeep the entire time.
• Only 1–2 out of 4 water troughs were filled for over 500 deer. DDA claimed “one trough is enough”.
• Daily food supplied (2 rickshaws of green fodder + 3 sacks of grains) is enough for only 80–100 deer — proving starvation-level feeding.  One deer requires 3 kg of food daily.
• Zero identification (no microchips, ear tags or tattoos) was done on any shifted deer, making it impossible to track survivors.
• CZA/IUCN guidelines strictly prohibit shifting pregnant deer, fawns, nursing mothers, antlered or injured deer. Authorities stuffed 40+ deer (including fawns) into single trucks and ignored every rule.
• A helpless fawn was trampled in a stampede caused by Wildlife Institute of India and DDA staff during a count in Deer Park. The ambulance was blocked from entering; the body was suspiciously removed before inspection.
• Leopard numbers in Asola were faked (official reports showed 8, they wrote 18) to justify using deer as prey base.
• DDA refused CZA’s repeated orders to segregate males/females and sterilise deer, and ignored plans to expand the enclosure from 10 acres to 30+ acres (empty land still lies adjacent).
• Inside the “protected forest” Deer Park: a slum colony with open defecation next to the enclosure, 24×7 lights and water waste, plus conflicting signboards allowing private events were found.
• The Central Empowered Committee (CEC) report is deeply flawed: it leaked our confidential letter to the accused DDA, denied IUCN guidelines (despite India being a member since 1969), was self-contradictory
  on protocols, and hid extra deer shifts from Keoladeo to fake survival numbers.

This is not conservation — it is cruelty and a violation of Supreme Court orders.

Our demands:

1. Immediately stop all further translocation of deer from A.N. Jha Deer Park.
2. Provide proper space, food, water and veterinary care to the remaining deer in Delhi.
3. Direct DDA to follow CZA recommendations: expand the enclosure and implement sterilization.
4. Reject the biased CEC report and order an independent enquiry into the cruelties and cover-ups.
5. Explore genuine alternatives (including Noida’s new 100-acre deer park) instead of sending Delhi’s deer as live bait.
