Hello, Davis Lane Community!
It’s a tough day, May 13, 2024. The City refuses to preserve even one slab for pickleball. You'll see the explanation below. We now must switch gears to restoring the courts. Next steps start with making sure everyone fills out the survey before May 30th: https://speakup.arvadaco.gov/davis-lane . Make sure on Question 3 that you click Other and add tennis/pickleball courts.
I will speak with VCN Director Janes on Friday and learn more about the restoration process, whether we need a new survey since the current one assumes courts will not be replaced, and other items.
This whole affair shows a serious flaw with the City process: they aren't talking with the community until their design for infrastructure is done, so will not adapt to community needs.
Details:
“I did hear back from staff regarding preserving the NE portion of the courts. They are stating that is not possible because of the original foundation design. There is only a foundation along the outside edges of the existing court. Also, the trunk line construction staging and excavation require full removal of the existing court.”
Sign-ups:
343 people have signed the online petition so far to save the courts! Thank you for your support!
P.S. (Remember these beautiful courts and let's work to get them back.)
