"Crema cafe adds tremendous value to the community and will continue to do so for the long term. Chain stores only add value to property owners." -James on Change.org Crema Petition

"It's sad to see good local business keep getting pushed out. What kind of prices will this new tenant have to charge to handle the higher rent? What kind of rcok-bottom wages will they have to pay? What quality corners will be cut?" -Erica on Change.org Crema Petition

Dear Crema Supporters,

Thank you so much for supporting the Petition, which now has nearly 2,000 signatures.

Let's the record straight: Crema isn't closing because they weren't able to negotiate the lease, or want to move on to Davis Square. They are being kicked out by bullying venture capital firms and landlords who have tripled the rent to force them out. Bluestone Lane is a chain supported by Billionaire-backed VC firm. Asana is not your landlord next door--but instead an out-of-state private investment firm, expert on making mad amounts of cash.

We hear that the Mayor of Cambridge along with City Councillors are looking at ways to see if Crema can stay in Harvard Square.

We need to act fast, and get the word out IMMEDIATELY. Please copy and send the link to sign the Petition to all your friends. Students--please send to student body emails or mailing lists. People need to know that Crema is closing (the tragedy!) and that they're doing so because they're being shoved around.

Thank you again for your support of Crema, and in doing so, supporting small, independent merchants bringing great value to our communities.

Best,

 Our Harvard Square
