Dear Supporters of Crema,
Awesome work y'all! We are up to 1,600 signatures to support Crema Cafe.
A tidbit of history: "The idea for Crema sprouted while owners Liza Shirazi and Marley Brush were studying and traveling abroad together in Europe. It wasn’t the grand museums and palaces, incomparable shopping, or even the thumping disco-tecas that made them most excited in each new city; it was the cafes – the little neighborhood spots, the ones that had freshly made pastries and perfectly steamed cappuccinos." - Boston Voyager
By supporting Crema, we are protecting our local community and its finest assets.
We are not convinced that Bluestone Lane must be in Crema's space. There are plenty of vacant storefronts in Harvard Square that they could go into.
Right now, we reaching out to Asana Partners, RSE Ventures, Bluestone Lane, &Pizza and MilkBar, to ask them to please re-consider their decision to force Crema out. We are making personal invitations to each Founder/CEO to join us for some cookies and tea in Crema Cafe so that they will see how good it is, know what they would be missing, and to decide to let Crema stay.
You may be asking--what's MilkBar and &Pizza got to do with it?!? Well, founders of MilkBar, &pizza and Bluestone Lane are all friends who gather on the Hamptons with billionaire investors to plan their next business forays. All three have received +/- $20,000,000 per business, so $60,000,000 total from RSE Ventures to expand their businesses aggressively. They are fast-casual chains, giving the impression being rooted in the community. However we want to stress that this is no longer business as usual. By outbidding the current tenant in offering triple the rent, these fresh-with-capital-businesses are sending a menacing message to all adjacent businesses--"You too could be next."
We thus are asking that the whole community show support for Crema Cafe by SIGNING THE PETITION TODAY.
Thank you, and in Crema and decency we trust.
