In early March, Save Connecticut Ave (SCA) met with Mayor Bowser. We presented her with the residential and business petitions. She was receptive to our concerns and directed DDOT to revise their plan.

Last week, DDOT Director Everett Lott stated that they are redesigning the Conn Ave bike plan so that both the northbound and southbound bike lanes will be on one side of the street. Although Director Lott stated that there was no finite timeline for the project, DDOT's project website shows the new plan being available at the end of this year (see chart above). So despite the delay, the project is moving forward.

Now, more than ever, we need you to tell all of your DC friends, family, and neighbors to sign our petition. We need to let people know how these bike lanes will hurt businesses, slow emergency response times, remove large numbers of parking spaces and lower the quality of life for residents. SCA wants to talk with the tenants and owners of residences, on and around Conn Ave. If you are in a tenant organization, or have a condo/coop board we can talk to, please email us at Admin@saveconnecticutave.org. (Please do NOT put this info in the comments below).

Save Connecticut Avenue, with your help, successfully delayed the plan. Our work is far from finished. We remain steadfast in our opposition to ANY bike lanes on Connecticut Avenue. Thank you for your continued support.
