The Twitter screenshot above shows the newly elected and reelected Cleveland Park ANC Commissioners giving the middle finger to a Save Connecticut Ave sign displayed in the window of a Cleveland Park business that opposes the 2 curbside bike lanes on Connecticut Ave.
The commissioners are Hayden Gis (Woodley Park East), Sauleh Siddiqui (Cleveland Park), and Janelle Pagats (Zoo area), Adam Prinzo (Woodley Park West), and Gawaine Kripke (Woodland/Normanstone).
Ms. Gise, who proudly posted the photo says "F the ops" ('ops" meaning opposition or old people). That's an "F" to their constituents and businesses who don't agree with their personal beliefs.
It is appalling that these people have been elected and re-elected. Their lack of respect for others and particularly opposing points of view, contributes to the divisiveness that plagues our nation and now, our community. This is the sort of outcome we can expect when political operatives and special interest groups groom slates of candidates for ANC races.
