After years of hard work, capital expenditure and compliance with city ordinances, Colossus bakery on 2nd street is being forced to remove all seating from their bakery. This petition is a formal request by local residents that Colossus keeps their seating area. 

For us local residents, Colossus losing their seating means the loss of one more safe, friendly gathering space on 2nd street. Colossus has survived the pandemic and become a hub for the local community. Taking away all their seating is just another blow to what should be a thriving local business. 

At a time when other local businesses have brought crime, the occasional stabbing, and the somewhat more frequent public defecation, one would think the local city council might value a business that does its upmost to foster community, or at least that the council has larger problems to worry about. Local residents want friendly walkable neighborhoods. The local businesses contributing to that should be left well alone, or even better, supported.
