Save Cofton Hackett's Vital Bus Service

Save Cofton Hackett's Vital Bus Service
The Issue
Living in Cofton Hackett without the ability to drive makes public transportation indispensable for me and many fellow residents. The removal of the Travel West Midlands bus route starting from 1st June 2025 threatens our independence and access to essential services. With various personal constraints preventing me from driving, buses are a crucial lifeline. Unfortunately, the proposed cuts will leave us with no regular bus service, sparking concerns for our daily commutes and appointments.
Amidst growing financial strains, such as Labour's recent cuts to benefits and the escalating cost of living, the affordability of alternative transport options like taxis is beyond reach for many. Without this bus route, the community faces barriers to accessing work, healthcare, and social interactions, which are vital for living independently.
The removal of this service would disproportionately impact workers, elderly residents, and those with mobility limitations. A bus service that operates throughout the week is an essential support system, enabling us to maintain jobs, attend medical appointments, and connect with our community.
This petition is a call to the local council and Travel West Midlands to reconsider the decision to cut this vital service, ensuring the continued mobility and well-being of Cofton Hackett residents. Maintaining the bus route is crucial not only for individual livelihoods but also for fostering a connected and supportive community.
Please sign this petition to urge the authorities to preserve this essential public transport service. Together, we can make a difference and ensure access to reliable and affordable transportation for all in Cofton Hackett.
