We have had a response from the council following submission of the Chesil Cove petition.

They acknowledge that at this stage the coastal team’s priority is to leverage as much funding from the environment agency as possible. 

•  after that, they say, further rounds of public engagement will take place to present any alternative feasible designs to us before making a final decision on what they will do
•  public concern, they say, has taken them back to the design board, hopefully to come up with something that preserves the cove for us. Time will tell.

thank you for your support -  voicing our concern has given them pause for thought. Let’s hope a new design can be found that will support the sea wall and preserve the cove too.
