Petition updateSave Chamberlain ParkFIND OUT WHO IN COUNCIL SUPPORTS THE WASTEFUL SPEND OF $30M
Save Chamberlain Park Incorporated
Jul 6, 2019

Save Chamberlain Park will be before the Environment and Community Committee this Wednesday (10 July) to try and stop Auckland Councillors approving the unnecessary expenditure of rate payer money.

The project is now going to cost us $30m and to prove up their case they are looking to spend a further $1m with consultants and others. Remember that expenditure is on just one single project – the redevelopment of Chamberlain Park. If money were no object I am sure there are many more worthy ways of spending $30m in the local community of Albert Eden.

The Indicative Business plan that will be voted on contains errors of fact and completely fails to provide any balance so should not be approved.

At the meeting on Wednesday we will report back to you on how all the Councillors have voted – with Council elections coming up in October you should know how they vote on such issues.

We now have more than 18,000 people who have signed our petition – it would be great if we could double that by October. If we did then it would make Councillors and Local Boards have to listen.
