Save Cats Protection Telford & District branch's market stall

Save Cats Protection Telford & District branch's market stall
The Issue
In order for this petition to be accepted by Telford & Wrekin Council, you must live, work or study in the Borough of Telford & Wrekin to sign it.
We call on Telford & Wrekin Council to reinstate the market stall run by Cats Protection Telford & District Branch within the renovated Wellington Market in line with its commitment to protecting existing traders, made as part of the Levelling Up funding bid which is financing the market renovation.
Cats Protection volunteers have for the past three years run a very successful stall in Wellington market, raising funds for the charity - and doing a whole lot more too! Known locally as 'the Cat Shop' it has become a key focus not just for fundraising but for engaging with local communities and stakeholders in the district.
- In the past 2 years we have supplied 22,385 meals for cats to local partners through our 'Community Kitty' scheme, to help cat owners in need.
- In 2023-5 we funded the neutering of 1,862 cats in the district
- In 2024 we admitted 152 cats into our care
- In 2024 we enabled the successful adoption of 156 cats and kittens
- We continue to send all school uniforms donated to our market stall to Telford Crisis Support
