This petition has been created by the Caleta Youth Committee. We along with many others are appalled with the idea of a Marina in Caleta. Our beloved beach will suffer as a result of a “stagnant pool” effect, created by the sheer size and proportions of the proposed marina, which if plans go through will extend all the way to Caleta Hotel, enveloping the whole bay! No more view of the horizon and sunrises, no more clean water, tides will be affected as well as the sea life, our heritage mocked and one of the few beaches of Gibraltar changed forever. Where do these changes end? We are not in agreement and our voices will be heard!

Not long ago Gibraltar raised their voices in defence of the proposed Rosia Bay developments and here we are again facing a major concerning threat towards another of Gibraltar’s beaches. 

Gibraltar has four marinas in such a small area of coast, we don’t need another, but we certainly need to protect the few beaches we have!
