Save California's Great America

Save California's Great America
The Issue
Since June 27 2022, California's Great America, a park in Santa Clara, California, is in danger of closing forever in the next few years in favor of residential redevelopment of the area. As Cedar Fair, the park's owner, has sold the land the park sits on to Prologis Inc, a bay area based real estate company, for $310 Million with a lease agreements. Who will operate the park for at most 11 years and then shut the park down for good and use the land for development for the local community.
California's Great America opened back in 1976 as one of the 2 Great America parks run by Marriott and since then, it would undergo different ownerships until ending up to Cedar Fair in 2006. Through the park's 46 years of operation, it would become a destination for not only locals to the Bay area, but also to people from other regions of the US and even the world creating countless of memories for all the people that step foot within the park's boundaries.
It is important for Cedar Fair and Prologis Inc to save this park from housing developments as it holds a special place in the hearts of many locals and for it to continue creating lifelong memories for everyone who steps inside the park's gates. We ask for Cedar Fair, Prologis Inc, and the local government of Santa Clara to reconsider the park's closure and to keep California's Great America open and operating for many years to come.
