Bright Stars is an exceptional nursery offering a nurturing environment where children thrive.  Bright Stars is rated as Outstanding in all areas by Ofsted (https://files.ofsted.gov.uk/v1/file/50147588 and they truly do offer the most outstanding care for their children.  Not only this, but Bright Stars also offer training to other early years childcare settings, inviting others in to the nursery to learn from their shining example.

Recently, parents received a letter out of the blue to say that Bright Stars will be closing permanently on Thursday 20th July.  This affects many parents and children, including those who have children who were due to start the nursery in the coming months.  As parents, we are all devastated by this news.  The closure also leaves an exceptional team of staff facing unemployment and huge uncertainty and disruption.

The reason given for the closure is financial.  We have been told that the nursery has been running at a deficit for some time, due in large part to the woeful underfunding of early years childcare from the current government.  We strongly feel that an outstanding nursery such as this should not face closure for financial reasons.

We need to take action now to stop this closure and to do all that we can to ensure that other nurseries and early years childcare settings do not face closure in the future.  Please sign this petition to add your voice against the closure of this outstanding nursery - lets save Bright Stars!
