Save Bridlington Post Office From Closure
The Issue
SAVE BRIDLINGTON POST OFFICE FROM CLOSURE
On the 13th November 2024, the Post Office announced that it would be seeking to close 115 ‘loss making’ post office branches around the country.
Part of the planned closure programme includes the main Bridlington Post Office, situated at 15-17 Quay Road in the town.
Locally, jobs are at risk and nationally over 1,000 staff are at risk of redundancy.
Anyone who has been to Bridlington Post Office will know how busy it is and how vital the services it offers are to residents in Bridlington and the surrounding areas.
This move, we feel, shows the lack of awareness by the Post Office management of its customers, employees, and local communities.
As your Bridlington-based community newspaper, The Echo will be working to stand up for our local Post Office branch and the much-needed and well used services it provides.
We will endeavour to keep the community of Bridlington updated, both in print within the Bridlington Echo and online through our hugely popular website and social media pages.
Thank you
The Bridlington Echo - our community matters.
