SAVE Bridger Bowl PLAYCARE!!!

The Issue

Bridger Bowl is eliminating their on-mountain childcare, the much beloved “Playcare" that has served families in the local community for decades, fostering the next generation of Bridger Bowl skiers and boarders.  In an effort to show Bridger Bowl that they should reconsider this decision, we are asking folks to sign and share this petition and voice how much this service means, to you, its loyal patrons.  Drop a comment here, or email the general manager Hiram Towle:  htowle@bridgerbowl.com.  We all love Bridger Bowl.  And yes, largely because of its snow and world-class terrain, but it runs even deeper than that.  We love it also because of the people, because of the community-feel, because of the hoots of joy echoing around from the mouths of toddlers to 80-year-olds.  This is where we ski; this is where our kids ski; this is “our mountain” that we take so much pride in.  Closing Playcare risks losing that community feeling when it stops supporting the people growing here.

Families value this resource.  It allows parents of young children to continue to ski, and aids Snowsports in introducing and familiarizing children to the mountain lifestyle and lifelong love of skiing/boarding.  This service has also been used by many Bridger Bowl employees over the years for their own children.  Is there a better place to grow up than on the mountain?  At a time when quality childcare is hard to find, and parents are stretched to the max, this is an especially ill-timed brutal blow.  We ask Bridger Bowl to stay true to their Mission Statement of “empowering youth and families” and ask what it is that their community wants and needs.

What more can you do to get your voice heard?  Join us Thursday, May 25th at 6:30 pm at the Hilton Garden Inn in Bozeman for the Spring Association Member Meeting of the Bridger Bowl Board.  Consider becoming a member for $25 (purchase through Bridger Bowl’s website).  We want to ask questions and understand how, in a year of a record-breaking number of guests, has Bridger Bowl arrived at this decision?  Why was there no effort in community outreach or feedback?  Can we help Bridger Bowl find a solution?
