We need to STOP this! SEBA Construction is proposing to build 8 townhouses at 1899 Cochrane and in the process  kill off 70 year old "Big Pondy" and 6 other healthy, MATURE trees! With a little creativity and less of a focus on profit, housing could be built that keeps the trees!

Section 1.02 of Saanich's Urban Forest Strategy states: "Protect existing old trees and old forest/forest fragments." 

Which would you rather have...A big, shady tree keeping us cool in heat domes or a stick stuck in the ground as a replacement that might be lucky to survive two years?
