The students of boise high school are fighting battles mere scholars shouldn’t have to deal with. Each day the students are fined hundreds of dollars because they are not provided with enough parking, or enough permits. Don’t even get me started on permit 1 and permit 2 parking, student who don’t live close to boise have no choice but to purchase permit 2 passes, and even then, that doesn’t ensure parking for students. Every other high school in the boise school district has an available parking lot for students. On average students at boise high leave an hour to 50 minutes before school even starts just to get parking, but still students have no choice but to park in permit 1 and get ticketed daily, or park deep in the neighborhoods where they can expect to walk for more time than they should. Boise needs to provide a solution for the BHS students, whether that’s no marking attendance for first period so students have time to walk to class because getting there even earlier isn’t the solution as it impedes on student’s sleep even more, having them attend school worn out. Another solution could be would be to provide more permit 2 parking, or just don’t ticket cars that register as boise high students vehicles. This is an urgent issue, each year it seems to get worse, and everyday these ticket police wait eagerly like vultures to ticket us, don’t they have anything better to do then enjoy taking money from students and families in public schools that have financial problems.
