Tomorrow (Thursday, June 27) the Miami City Commission will vote on another contract for Ultra Music Festival at Bayfront Park. This vote follows a unanimous vote last year rejecting a similar contract.

The proposed contract, which has no term limits, allows Ultra to close most or all of Bayfront Park for 30 days, and allows them up to 8 weeks (until June 1) to repair the damage to the park. As a result, the park may be closed or in rehabilitation during March, April and May - on top of the 2 months of park closure scheduled for the 2020 Super Bowl fan event, the Miami Marathon and Wodapalooza.

The contract also allows Ultra to generate the same noise levels from years past. An acoustical engineering study determined that these noise levels exceed numerous safety standards and puts residents at risk for hearing loss and other negative health effects.

Please attend the City Commission meeting tomorrow and ask our city officials to protect your health, stand for your rights, and reject the proposed contract.
