17 Months ago the Downtown Neighbors Alliance started this petition to reclaim Bayfront Park for the benefit of the community. Ten months ago, Commissioner Carollo sent Rolling Loud to the Hard Rock stadium. Six weeks ago, the Miami City Commission voted unanimously against the proposed 5-year Ultra contract at Bayfront Park. Earlier today, downtown residents won the last battle in the fight to Save Bayfront Park: the Miami City Commission voted to relocate Ultra Music Festival to Virginia Key - over a mile away from the nearest residential property. Our mission to liberate Bayfront Park from private mega events has finally been accomplished. Thank you for all your help and support over the last 17 months. Now, that Bayfront Park has been reclaimed for the community, the Downtown Neighbors Alliance will work with the Bayfront Park Trust and other downtown Miami organizations to activate the park with community-based events, for the enjoyment of all Miami residents.
