Downtown Miami Residents
28.09.2018

In a stunning turn of events the city commissioners voted unanimously to reject a contract for Ultra at Bayfront Park. Furthermore, Commissioner Carollo committed to introducing legislation requiring Bayfront Park to be open to the public at least 85% of the year.

All that happened after a full day of challenges, twists and turns – from Ultra bringing busloads of paid extras wearing “Ultra is Miami” shirts, who lined up before city hall opened and took every available seat to prevent downtown residents from being represented, through the hours of waiting outside city hall until residents were (finally!) granted entry, to the endless bickering and insult exchanges between our esteemed commissioners.

But the dozens of downtown residents who came to city hall prevailed, and at the end of the day, we emerged victorious!

We won a watershed battle with a decisive victory, but the war might not be over yet: Ultra may try to stage a last-ditch battle to overturn the vote. We will remain vigilant and keep monitoring any developments on that front.

I am fortunate to have shared this journey with extraordinary individuals, who are endlessly dedicated to their community. Thank you for all your help and support!
