Avoca Public School Parents and Citizens Association are seeking community support for our school.

Avoca Public School is an integral part of our Southern Highlands Community and preserves local heritage. It has been offering high quality education to residents of Avoca, Fitzroy Falls and surround for more than 150 years.

Beyond its educational benefits, Avoca PS serves as a community asset and central gathering place for community events in times of celebration and disaster. 

The NSW Department of Education have notified parents that the school will be placed into recess at the end of Term 1 2025. The school continues to deliver quality education to a number of students local to Fitzroy Falls and Avoca and we want to see it grow and thrive for another 150 years!

The NSW State Government subsidises private education in our state an average of more than $11,000 per private school student every year. Reducing this by just $1.10 per student per annum they could save Avoca Public School. 

We are seeking signatures to demonstrate community support to keep our school operational so that local children can continue to access local public education.
