Growing up in Antioch, Centennial Park was literally in my backyard. It remains an iconic piece of our local landscape, rich in history and charm. So, it’s deeply disappointing to see the Village of Antioch considering plans to demolish this beloved green space. The village is using grant funds that were initially meant to renovate Centennial Park, only to replace it with a modern, smaller park, stripping away the nostalgic aura that has been part of our community for generations.

Centennial Park is not just any park; it has been a communal space where countless memories have been crafted. Many of us have played there as children, and it has been our hope that our children's children will get the same joyful experiences in this beautiful, historical setting.
