As of now Michigan has no laws to protect animals from being left in hot cats, or laws to protect a witness who breaks a window to help an animal. Michigan is still without a Good Samaritan law allowing people to shatter windows to rescue animals in need of rescuing.

No living being should have to endure this form of cruelty and neglect. The temperatures that are safe for a dog to be left alone in a car are between 30-70 degrees but Not longer than 5 minutes.

Cars become ovens quickly, and they magnify heat. If it's 75 degrees outside it takes only 10 minutes to reach 100 degrees, 75 degrees for 30 minutes 120 degrees, 85 degrees for 5 minutes 90 degrees, 85 for 7-8 minutes 100 degrees, 100 for 15 minutes 140 degrees. Running into a store for a very short time can prove fatal!

Dogs have a harder time adjusting to heat than humans, being in a hot car can very quickly become life threatening! The American Academy of Pediatrics study found: In terms of heat rising in cars over time, it makes very little difference whether a cars windows are closed or partially open.

Animals deserve better. We need to stand up and be a voice for the voiceless and innocent!!
