Living and raising our young children in the charming neighborhood of Leawood, Kansas for a decade, we have cherished the unique character and history that defines our community. The Original City Hall and Fire Station #1 are not just structures but are emblematic of our neighborhood's rich past and its potential future. To ensure these buildings continue to serve our community, we're proposing a visionary transformation.  We envision our neighborhood not just as a place of residence, but as a shared gathering space for families, neighbors, and friends to play, socialize, and connect.  

Imagine the Old City Hall bustling with life as it transforms into a locally owned coffee and ice cream shop, becoming a beloved local spot where friendships are nurtured over a cup of coffee or a scoop of ice cream. Just next door, envision Fire Station #1 evolving into a vibrant community center run by the city, where residents gather for workshops, events, or simply a place to connect and collaborate. Rather than allowing these historical sites to suffer the fate of demolition, we see an opportunity to repurpose and rejuvenate them as vibrant community centers.
