Hi, I recently went to Qiandao Lake in Hangzhou, China on an island named Good Luck island. My tour group had brought us there to go to a "monkey yard" and watch a show where monkeys were forced to perform cruel tricks. There was a lot of monkeys chained up so they could only move a few feet! There was also a room with metal bars which I saw monkeys try to climb out of. Then the show began, the trainer pulled hard on the chains when the monkeys tried to run and made the monkeys yelp in pain. Then he forced them to perform cruel tricks such as raising a flag, saluting, doing back flips, shoot hoops, and dancing. The trainer threatened the monkeys with a metal chain whip and whipped them. He also threatened a monkey with a plastic gun. When the trainer forced a monkey to dance, he hit him with a large plastic stick when he danced slightly off cue. The monkey yelped and ran when he got hit. The monkeys were also forced to stand on their hind feet, this is very painful for monkeys and not natural.  I could see the sadness and the abuse these monkeys suffer every day. Animals should not be forced to perform cruel tricks, these monkeys have suffered a lot of pain and suffering just to entertain people. Monkeys are taken out of the wild to perform and get abused. It is illegal to breed and train monkeys in China without a proper license. Please help save them! If we can get enough people to sign, we might be able to get these monkeys in a sanctuary and also make stricter laws on this matter!
