Crucial Ryde Council meeting tomorrow night, Tuesday 28th - email the Councillors

SAVE 87 Bowden Street Residents' Committee
26 jun 2016
Good morning Ryde Council is meeting tomorrow night to decide whether to proceed to Land and Environment Court or, the easier option, to accept the Developer's revised plans. The revised plans are totally unacceptable on many levels and we need to ensure Council does NOT accept the amended plans and continues to defend the refusal in the Land and Environment Court. To this end, could you please email the Councillors below and let them know your opposition to the acceptance of these plans. Please read the note below for more detail and for a list of the email addresses. Please if you can't come along to the meeting tomorrow night, can you please ensure you send an email to the Councillors? If you can possibly come along to the meeting and speak or just to form a crowd - it would be greatly appreciated. Don't forget to email as well. Thank you for your continued support, we really do appreciate it, Best regards SAVE 87 Bowden Street Residents' Committee Next Tuesday 28th June, the Council will be considering what steps to take next in the Land and Environment Court case of 87 Bowden Street. Councillors will be asked whether we wish to accept the amended plans for the childcare centre, or whether we wish to fight the childcare centre developer in the court. Councillors will consider the matter in a confidential session at the end of the meeting due to the legal nature of the matter. Local residents and objector will still be able to speak at the meeting and register their views with Councillors, notwithstanding that the decision will be made in a closed meeting. I urge you to send emails, call and text Councillors over the next few days. Our position is that Council should NOT accept the amended plans and should defend the refusal in the Land and Environment Court. Councillors can be contacted using these emails and phone numbers. The more Councillors you contact the better. We need to make sure Councillors appreciate the amount of community concern there is with this proposal. The latest plans have 29 objections and the community concern is not going away.
