L&E Court - Amended plans to be submitted by developer

We have just received an update from Ryde Council, who are providing updates when they can. The latest news is that the developer sought leave to amend the latest set of plans - and this was granted by the Court despite Councils strongest opposition. After these latest plans are submitted, we will have time to consider and comment on them. This will be the third set of plans - the first and second set were totally unacceptable and ignored all community concerns regarding the retention of the historical value of the house, retention of the historical gardens, compatibility with the existing streetscape and overshadowing of neighbours. Nor was there any mention for the safety of pedestrians and road users due to increased traffic. The car park design the developer submitted is unworkable, it is against Coucil regulations regarding excavation and its design would ensure a continual underground grid lock for the CCC's clients. There was no mention or provision for an emergency evacuation plan - where would the children be evacuated to in an emergency when the CCC is on the corner of two busy roads? This morning, from 7.00am there was no street car parking available between Meadowbank Station and Macpherson Street. A court date has been set for October and everyone will be notified if they wish to attend as lay witnesses. Best regards, SAVE 87 Bowden Street Residents' Committee
