Thank you, to everyone so far that has responded so quickly and positively to this petition.

Sadly, this looks to be only the beginning of a much bigger problem, as council prepare to bring in a new plan to allow developers (including Housing NZ) to buy and redevelop sections with no requirements to inform neighbours and removing the right to object and potentially stop unwanted developments.

Please take a moment to visit the Hastings Council website and do a search for "plan change 5". If this plan passes without objection next week, more of our landmarks are at risk and no section is safe from multi-dwelling developments.
