If consent number RMA20230061 to Hastings Council is approved, they will likely demolish this landmark in order to build 11 houses on the section.

Without opposal to this planned development, Hastings will likely lose this iconic landmark, yet another dense housing section will be built and neighbours, race goers and Hastings itself will have lost something great in return for little to no gain, when other suitable sites exist (like maybe 805-809 Southland Road)
