Netflix is acquiring Warner Bros — which means they're about to own Queer as Folk (US).
That show generated $130-260M between 2000-2005.
It's STILL SELLING in 2026:
Amazon DVD rank: 34,202 (top 2% of all DVDs)
Context: Most DVDs older than a decade rank in the millions, meaning they almost never sell. This is not dead stock. This is an active seller.
But here's the problem:
If Netflix only gets what's in the Warner Bros vault, they'll own one iconic show in isolation — with no access to the 6,000+ films and shows that came before it, built the foundation for it, or followed it.
This is our moment to tell them:
"You're already buying one piece of queer history. Don't stop there. Save all of it."

They could generate nearly $1 BILLION yearly.
Overall DVD market (2024): Collapsed 66.9% in one year
LGBTQ+ DVD sales (2024-2025): +25% GROWTH
Translation: While everyone else abandoned DVDs, LGBTQ+ audiences are buying MORE — because streaming doesn't have what we want.
Cost to acquire the archive: $10-50M (one-time)
Potential annual revenue: $421M-912M per year
