Save 150 Year Old Bowring Literary and Scientific Institute in the Heart of Bengaluru

The leaders of the club want to use a huge amount of money to buy a new piece of land very far away to build a second club called "Unit-II." This land is over 23 acres big, and they want to pay ₹3.7 Crores for every single acre. That adds up to a mountain of money—nearly ₹88 Crores just for the dirt! Many people are worried that if all the money is spent on this new land, there won't be enough left to fix the old roofs or keep the original 150-year-old library beautiful. They feel like the club's "savings account" is being emptied.

There is also a very important question about who gets to use these places. The Bowring Institute sits on land that actually belongs to the government—which means it belongs to everyone in the city. However, right now, it is a "Private Club," which means only a few people with special memberships can go inside to eat or play games. Many people think this is unfair. Instead, people are demanding that clubs on government land should be run like the Bangalore International Centre. • Mandate all “Private” Members only clubs operating on Government land which are unconstitutional in the Sovereign Democratic Republic of भारत Bharata on the lines of Bangalore International Center where membership of the club is restricted, but it is open to all public all over the world.
• Hand over Management of Bowring Institute to Management Committee of Bangalore International Center
• Remove all “Private” Members only club rule from all Private Clubs operating on land owned by Karnataka Government
• Hand over Management of all “Private” Members only Clubs operating on land owned by Karnataka Government to Management Committee of Bangalore International Center

The Core Issue

These Private Clubs were set up by FUKUS colonists as their exclusive place of recreation, literary, scientific and cultural activities. They completely excluded the locals and local dress code.

There are absolutely no literary, scientific, cultural, local talent, local artisan and local handicraft  promotion activities held in these clubs unlike the Bangalore International Center which devotes its entire infrastructure and resources for these purposes and is open to public all over the world.

They are all located in the heart of Bangalore, and rest of the Sovereign Democratic Republic of भारत Bharata with acres of green space. The ambience is 5 star, but the prices and food are equivalent to Koshy's hotel.

They have now become shady and cheap places to do deals among the land mafia dons, black money recyclers and other shady activities of Representatives and Bureaucrats of the government.  

They operate on obsolete 19th century FUKUS colonist rules, procedure and dress code.

They are only open to worthless “genetic lottery” coconut descendants only living on the past glory of their ancestors and not really amounting to much themselves.

The Bowring Institute Issue

The Bowring Institute is a 150 Year old institution originally set up as a Literary and Scientific Institute.  

It is located in the heart of Bangalore, St Mark’s Road in 12 acres of open and green space.
