Aloha everyone!  

Last week we posted an Update to our Petition, which should have been emailed to you from the Change.org platform.  It appears that this did not work!? So, we’re trying it again and pray it makes its way to you . . .

As Hawai'i Island Pets Alive heads into the 2nd week of its Petition launch, we first send out a big MAHALO ('thank you') to everyone who has supported this mission of building an effective Animal Control agency that focuses on progress! One that strives for lifesaving success, putting an end to the killing of animals in shelters, and working with the community!  

Secondly, we are sending out a CALL TO ACTION!!  Our elections are right around the corner (August 13) . . . and your voice will be louder than ever!  You are meant to be heard.  We've made it convenient for you to contact the decision-makers and influencers of our Petition Demands.  Under the Files section of our FaceBook page, you'll find a document titled "Sample Letter for County Contacts".  Feel free to use this as a launch pad (courtesy of one of our supporters who has already taken this step!).

By sharing with your friends and other contacts we're closing in on 1,000 signatures . . . and, we've yet to promote outside our circle of friends.  Again, we thank you for signing, sharing and contacting the decision-makers and influencers.  You ARE part of the solution!
