Act NOW to save Savannah’s Archaeological Sites!

The Issue

Believe it or not, YOU have incredible power in saving Savannah’s history underground. An archaeology ordinance can protect our community’s history by studying sites before they are destroyed by development, without stopping growth.

If you believe that there IS a need for an archaeology ordinance to protect Savannah’s important sites and it needs to include development on city property and non-city property please let city officials know by doing the following:

A. *QUICK!*Complete the City of Savannah Survey by **deadline (Oct. 15, 2019)

https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/historyordinancesurvey

Additional comments can be sent to:

 [ planning@savannahga.gov  ] (3-5 minutes of your time)

B. Email your alderman/alderwoman (see email addresses below) and express support for an archaeology ordinance that covers all properties, not just city-owned ones. (5-10 minutes of your time)

C. Attend second meeting on Oct. 24, 2019 and show support for above. (Coastal Georgia Center, 305 Fahm St., Savannah, GA 31401, 6 pm) (1 hour of your time)

Thank You,

Savannah Archaeological Advocacy Group
