Un lieu culturel et social unique menacé de fermeture après 13 années au service des quais de Seine

Depuis plus de 13 ans, Les Nautes font vivre les quais de Seine autrement sur le Port des Célestins.

Bien plus qu’un bar, Les Nautes sont devenus au fil des années un lieu emblématique de rencontre, de culture, de solidarité et de convivialité ouvert à tous. Associations, artistes, étudiants, habitants du quartier, touristes et promeneurs s’y croisent chaque année dans un esprit d’ouverture rare au cœur de Paris, et profitent gracieusement des terrasses tout au long de la journée en dehors des horaires d’ouverture. A ce titre, Les Nautes offre un véritable service public unique au quartier.

Les Nautes ont accueilli des centaines d’événements culturels, soutenu de nombreuses initiatives associatives et mené des actions solidaires concrètes. Pendant la crise sanitaire, plus de 5 000 repas gratuits ont notamment été distribués à des étudiants en difficulté.

La concession des Nautes arrivant à échéance à l’automne 2026, HAROPA PORT, le propriétaire, a lancé au printemps 2025 un nouvel appel à projets pour l’occupation du Port des Célestins.

Contre toute attente, l’offre déposée par Les Nautes n’a pas été retenue.

Si le principe d’une remise en concurrence n’est pas discutable, nous contestons en revanche fermement cette décision que nous considérons irrégulière.

Nous avons engagé une démarche pour que notre offre soit réexaminée dans son intégralité et en stricte application des critères figurant dans cet appel à projets.

Nous considérons en effet que notre offre était la mieux placée au regard des exigences de la consultation pour maintenir  la dimension culturelle, sociale et à l’ancrage local sur le Port des Célestins.

Si cette décision était maintenue, elle entraînerait la disparition d’un lieu indépendant reconnu pour son engagement culturel et social et la suppression des emplois des personnels engagés à nos côtés.

Nous ne pouvons pas l’accepter.

Nous demandons donc :

- le réexamen des conditions d’attribution de la concession ;

- l’ouverture d’un dialogue constructif avec les acteurs concernés, les élus et les habitants ;

- la sauvegarde des emplois ;

- le maintien d’une offre culturelle, sociale et accessible sur le Port des Célestins.

Soutenir Les Nautes, c’est défendre une certaine idée de Paris : un Paris vivant, ouvert, créatif et accessible à tous.

A unique cultural and social venue threatened with closure after 13 years of service on the banks of the Seine

For over 13 years, Les Nautes has been bringing the banks of the Seine to life in a different way at Port des Célestins. Much more than just a bar, Les Nautes has become over the years an iconic gathering place for culture, solidarity, and friendliness, open to everyone. Every year, community organizations, artists, students, local residents, tourists, and passersby cross paths here in a rare spirit of openness in the heart of Paris, enjoying the terraces free of charge throughout the day outside of business hours. In this regard, Les Nautes provides a truly unique public service to the neighborhood.

Les Nautes has hosted hundreds of cultural events, supported numerous community initiatives, and carried out concrete solidarity actions. Notably, during the health crisis, more than 5,000 free meals were distributed to students in need.

With the concession of Les Nautes coming to an end in the fall of 2026, HAROPA PORT, the property owner, launched a new call for projects in the spring of 2025 for the occupation of Port des Célestins. Against all expectations, the bid submitted by Les Nautes was not selected.

While the principle of a competitive bidding process is not up for debate, we firmly contest this decision, which we consider to be irregular. We have initiated a process to ensure that our bid is re-examined in its entirety and in strict compliance with the criteria set out in the call for projects. Indeed, we believe that our proposal was the best positioned regarding the requirements of the consultation to maintain the cultural, social, and locally rooted dimension at Port des Célestins.

If this decision stands, it would lead to the disappearance of an independent venue recognized for its cultural and social commitment, as well as the loss of jobs for the staff dedicated to our cause. We cannot accept this.

We therefore demand:

• The re-examination of the terms for awarding the concession;
• The opening of a constructive dialogue with the relevant stakeholders, elected officials, and local residents;
• The preservation of jobs;
• The maintenance of a cultural, social, and accessible offering at Port des Célestins. 

Supporting Les Nautes means defending a certain idea of Paris: a vibrant, open, creative Paris that is accessible to all.
