Saskatchewan Highway 155 from La Loche to Buffalo Narrows is an embarrassment to the Ministry of Highways. It is full of pot holes, sloppy patches of asphalt, long stretches of gravel, narrow roads with depleted edges, signs that say "reduce speed, slow down, hazardous road", and if we are lucky red flags to warn drivers a bump is approaching. 

The last time this road was paved was in 1980 and this is when it was first paved. Wear and tear on vehicles are too many to count. Drivers are forced to slow to 60km for majority of the 100 km highway. 

La Loche, Clearwater River Dene Nation, Turnor Lake, Bear Creek, Garson Lake, Descharme Lake, Buffalo Narrows and Landing residents travel this road daily for essentials; medical trips, groceries, building supplies, and for residents to get to and from their jobs. 

Many service vehicles drive this highway daily; grocery suppliers, mail, building companies, health services, ambulance, NexGen truckers, Fission truckers, etc. 

Northern lives matter, we have been waiting far too long for this to become a priority for the Government. We ask you to invest in the North so we can safely get to our basic essentials and arrive home alive.
