This is amazing! We are sending a very strong message to our political representatives, whose responsibility it is to caretake our publicly owned commons; in this case, the old Lakeshore Road right-of-way between Rainbow Cove and Perch Creek.

This right-of-way is one "chain" (66 feet) wide. There is currently a section - from the Cull Drain to Mike Weir Park - that has been virtually inaccessible to the public and encroached upon by adjacent landowners for many years.

This, despite a 2006 motion from council to reassert public ownership and access, that was never followed through on and a more recent aborted attempt to carry out this 2006 directive.

This is our priceless public waterfront. Don't let your government caretakers give it away, or neglect it until it falls into the lake and it becomes too late to save!

Please keep sharing!
