We are asking the county to consider the addition of a much needed traffic signal at the intersection of Bellagio Blvd and Englewood Rd/ SR 776 in South Venice. This intersection has increased with traffic volume since the addition of over 110 single family homes were completed within Ventura Village and Rapalo communities over the past year. More importantly, this is an active bus stop for the school aged children of these communities. The constant high speed traffic volume with the absence of a traffic signal or proper turn lanes have created three serious traffic accidents within the past few months. This poses a serious danger to our children waiting for the bus as well as residents traveling in and out of their community. The addition of a traffic signal would smooth the traffic flow from all angles of Englewood Rd., as well as reduce accidents while keeping our children and residents safe. Please consider our request. Many lives depend on it.
