It was amazing to read an editorial that was honest, truthful, emotional and straight from the heart today regarding the UND athletes and the athletic program(s) we have at the University. I've attached the link to read the editorial from Bryn Chyzk's parents. So many times the editorials in the GF Herald are full of misleading information, such as a recent one in which a gentleman insinuated that we are not true Sioux fans because we do not stand behind the Standing Rock Sioux tribe during their protest of the pipeline. Having the Sioux nickname and holding it in respect, with honor and tradition does not mean that as fans we have to stand behind anyone's political agendas!! Period! We are true Sioux fans which is why we stand behind the honor and tradition of the name. We will not be fighting hawks or any other name/logo they try to throw our way. Please continue to share and encourage others to sign the petition. Again if we all have one more person sign we can reach 12,000 signatures. Wouldn't it be amazing if we were able to reach a number that is greater than the number that voted for the new name?! I think it would be! Let's keep going!
