It's reassuring to see so many people upset about Alisson's situation. I can also assure you that her continued detention is very real and despite numerous requests to release Alisson and her mom to a sponsor, ICE has continually denied their release. Specifically for Alisson, even though her green card is pending, ICE has specifically said that they will try to deport her before her green card is issued and despite having an approved special immigrant juvenile visa. The only way I can think of to change ICE's mind is to present overwhelming support for this sweet, amazing seven year old girl. That I can do with your help. So please sign, and share. I will be presenting this petition, all signatures and all comments to ICE. I will do so in person. So please don't hold back. Comment, tweet, share, if you are upset and think this seven years old girl should not languish in detention FOR NO REASON. Now some people have asked questions: 1. Alisson and her mother do have family (specifically a female relative) whom has presented information to ICE for their release ... And ICE has denied that release repeatedly for he last 7 months. Release requests have been denied every month and as recently as two weeks ago. 2. Alisson is detained now for over 7 months with her mother in a secure family detention center, meaning they cannot leave the prison and have little communication with anyone but me, her attorney. 3. Alisson and her mother's asylum case is in federal court now. However, Alisson because she is an especially vulnerable child has an approved special visa, which is why she has now filed for her green card which is pending. ICE has made clear that they do not care that she has been identified as a vulnerable child (by immigration themselves). 4. You can support this child!!! Overwhelm the prison with support for Alisson. You can send sealed food, clothes, books, (she loves FROZEN and princess stuff) etc to: Alisson C A child at the Berks County Residential Center 1040 Berks Rd Leesport, PA 19533. This little girl has impacted me more than any other child I have represented. I have watched her cry and laugh. When I'm there she does not leave my side. Sometimes she doesn't even let go of my leg. Please help me free her.
