Her mother is worried that Alisson is not doing well emotionally and psychologically. She tells me that Alisson was always a great child, but now she is demonstrating a sense of helplessness. She has told her mother that it would be better for her and her mother to have just died in El Salvador, than to be stuck in prison for the last 7 months. No child should ever feel this helpless. Her mother sent the following message: "Please I need help with my daughter because this is really bad. You know that those thoughts are not for a 7 year old girl to think to take her own life. Because sometimes she says Mommy better we stayed in El Salvador being killed and not be suffering here. This Alisson tells me .. and for me this makes me very upset because I cannot do anything for my daughter more than just cry." No child should have to choose between freedom and death.
