I want to make a change in fathers rights. I hear it way to often that mothers stop their children seeing their father for a reason that is just not acceptable or on reasonable grounds. To stop a father could be detrimental to the Children and their future or at worst could affect their mental health as adults. It is highly important for a child to have a good relationship with their father. Children have rights to, a mother should not be aloud to make this decision unless the children are in any harm whilst in the fathers care. This petition was due to me yet again hearing a friend had been stopped seeing his two children. He is paying £700 a month through CSA for child maintenance and has never put his children in any harm when in his care. The mother has decided she doesn’t want them having nothing to do with him and I stress through reasons that are not justifiable and has moved far up the country without consenting him. He now has no address, no ways of contacting her to see his children and has now not seen them for over a year. He is heartbroken and doesn’t know where to turn. Why is there not a system in place where this is a criminal offence to stop children seeing their dad unless of course there is good reason for doing so. Why do fathers have to pay thousands in legal fees to see their children when not all are in a financial position to afford this. Something more needs to be done for fathers rights. I am a separated mother of three children and despite any issues or disputes me and their father may of had this should not in any way affect the relationship between ourselves and our children. I demand for stronger punishments to mothers who stop a very capable loving father seeing their children. I also demand for something to be done to offer full legal aid to even working fathers for court costs.
