The Friends of Abolitionist Place invite you to join us TODAY, Tuesday, 7/28 at 7pm for a celebration of what would have been Mama Joy's 73rd birthday, may she rest in power.

We will come together to watch video clips, hear words of endearment from those who fought alongside her and discuss ways you can support Mama Joy's legacy of activism and community organizing. Establishing 227 Abolitionist Place Heritage Center is the continuation of the work she began so long ago and will serve as a testament of resistance, liberation and culture for all of us and future generations.

Live drumming and music will be provided by Mama Joy's grandsons, Nyemba and Zephaniah.
